The Atlantic White-sided Dolphin Project
We are doing a foundation study on the Atlantic White-sided Dolphin, a somewhat large dolphin that lives mostly off-shore in the North Atlantic. Since its natural habitat tends to be further away from the coastline, it is for now an understudied specie. Many things are unknown about this dolphin, and since they sometimes are observed in our waters we have a rare opportunity to learn more about these beautiful creatures. We have begun to analyze their vocalizations and behaviors and hope to gather much more valuable data on their communication and social structures. We are building a photo-ID catalogue of their individuals and tracking their distribution over time.
